Praying Isaiah’s Heart

When we obey Jesus’ instruction to pray for God to send workers into the harvest, that means that people need to be available and willing to go.

And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.” Isaiah 6:8 (ESV)

Isaiah saw a vision of God in his temple so profound that he felt unworthy as he realized his own uncleanness. However, as soon as that happened, he was cleansed when a heavenly being touched his lips with a burning coal.

God then asked who would be willing to be sent to his people with a message, and Isaiah stepped forward.

This same scene is playing out today because God is still seeking people to go and labor in the field.

Perhaps, just as we ask God to give us His heart regarding the lost, and then ask Him to send people into the harvest, we should follow up by seeking to transform our own love for the lost into action.

Heavenly Father, you are calling for people willing to share the message of truth and light. I submit myself to your call, my King. Fill me with your Spirit and send me into the darkness.
